Get to know and get started in this amazing sport with a visit to the Cirà Cave. Located in the village of Montán (Castellón), it is one of our usual choice for those who want to have a first experience in “caving”.

Caving in the Cirà Cave
The Cirá Cave is a cave with different rooms, beautiful formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, gours, lava flows, aragonites,… Its main floor is developed without great unevenness and we will hardly need the use of ropes.

An ideal cave for beginners in caving and very well located in the Alto Mijares region if you are looking for an adventurous weekend. Combinable with activities such as rafting, climbing, canyoning, trekking…

9.30 AM - 10.00 AM: Transport

After signing the contract at the office and paying the outstanding amount, we drive to the cave in our 4×4 vehicle.

The drive is approximately 20 minutes.
The cave is located in the village of Montán, approximately 9km from Montanejos.
The name of the cave is Cirà (Cirano in Valencian), and it has had many uses, including an aggressive mining prospecting for the mineral Onyx. Luckily they didn’t find it, but its entrance shows the “delicacy” of their methods.

10.00 AM - 10.30 AM: Handing over of equipment

Once we have arrived at our destination, we will hand over our personal equipment (overalls to protect us from dust and mud, harness, helmet, head torch…).
3

10.30 AM - 1.30 PM: Visit to the cave

We will enter the cave, guided by the instructor who will prepare the ropes at each point to secure the passage. In addition, he will tell you a lot of interesting things about the formations and history hidden in this cave. For the more daring, we will propose you to penetrate some “gateras” or narrow passages, which will test your skills.

1.30 PM - 2.30 PM: Return to Montanejos

Once out of the cave and back in the vehicles we can take off our equipment and return to Montanejos. Here you will be able to use our changing rooms and outdoor showers if you request it.

2.30 PM: End of the activity

At this point we end the activity. The guides have to clean up and collect the equipment. If you are hungry or thirsty, there is nothing better than booking a great meal in one of the restaurants or terraces of the village, ask us!
